Healing Tips for Your New Ink
The work done in the studio is only half the journey. The first four weeks of healing determine how vibrant and sharp your tattoo will remain for the rest of your life.

Days 1 to 3: The Initial Barrier
Keep the protective film (SecondSkin or medical wrap) in place for the duration recommended during your session (typically 24 to 72 hours). This shield prevents airborne contaminants and friction from irritating open skin.
When removing the wrap, do so gently under lukewarm running water. Clean the area with an unscented, antibacterial soap using clean fingertips — never abrasive washcloths or sponges.
Days 4 to 14: Moisture & Flaking
As the skin begins to regenerate, light peeling or flaking is completely normal. Apply a thin layer of recommended fragrance-free aftercare lotion 2-3 times daily. Avoid over-saturating the skin, which can clog pores.
Never pick, scratch, or peel the flakes. Allow them to shed naturally to protect the underlying ink.
Days 15 to 30: Long-Term Preservation
Avoid submerged water (pools, ocean, baths, hot tubs) and direct sunlight for at least 3 weeks. Once fully healed after 30 days, daily SPF application will protect your investment from fading.
